IPSWICH HORSE SOCIETY RIDE FOR CHARITY
IN AID OF EAST ANGLIAN AIR AMBULANCE

SUNDAY 10th SEPTEMBER 2023

OLD HALL ESTATE (formerly part of Shrubland Park), BARHAM, IPSWICH (Access at Shrubland Sawmill, IP6 0PP)

Approx 11 miles (Optional shorter route approx 5 miles) Start between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.

Entry fee £20 per rider. Advance bookings preferred. Cash entries accepted on the day.

A lovely ride around parkland and neighbouring farmland. The Estate is situated to the north of Ipswich and to the east of the A14, near to the A14/A140 junction. The start venue is accessed off the old Norwich Road (Claydon/Barham) at Shrubland Sawmill. Please give consideration to other riders and use caution when passing those who may wish to ride at a different pace. Also please respect landowners. Please confirm your return at the end of the ride and collect a rosette.

RULES AND CONDITIONS (Your entry will be taken as acceptance of all rules and conditions.)

  1.   The organisers and landowners accept no responsibility for injury from accidents to persons or animals or the theft of property. Persons attending do so at their own risk.
  2.   British Standard or European Standard hard hats and correct footwear must be worn at all times whilst mounted. Reflective clothing is strongly recommended.
  3.   All dogs must be kept on a lead.
  4.   Sorry, no cyclists.
  5.   The course will be flagged and signed. In case of emergency this contact no 07889546319

    should be taken with you. Please ensure you have a fully charged mobile phone.

  6.   Vet on call. Deben Valley Equine Vets 01728 685123.
  7.   All participants must have their own third party insurance. It is advised that horses/poniesshould have a current Equine Flu Vaccine.
  8.   ENTRIES close midnight Thursday 8th September. Late entries on the day, cash only.

There will be no loo facilities or water available. Light refreshments will be available and participants are welcome to bring their own picnic.

The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of those present. Everyone themselves must take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and have consideration for others. Instructions of the organisers and their stewards must be strictly adhered to.
