Brought up on a farm in Norfolk, I’ve always had a fondness for animals, particularly livestock, including sheep, cattle and horses.

Having trained to be a farrier in Lancashire, qualifying in 2017, I then travelled to New Zealand and Australia to hone my profession. I spent six months in New Zealand working with competition, leisure riding and stock horses before experiencing the trade in a racing yard in New South Wales, Australia for a further six months.

Having gained significant experience and confidence, I then set up my own farrier business in Queensland, shoeing horses and ponies, including stock horses, showjumpers, dressage horses and leisure riding horses.

I recently returned home to Norfolk and founded ‘Downing Farrier’ where I use my experience to offer a friendly and reliable service.
