LG Elite Equestrian: Lucy Gooderham BHSII Accredited Professional Coach.
Qualified and insured:
Level 4 Senior Coach in Complete Horsemanship.
UKCC qualified.
BHS Intermediate Stable Manager
BHS Senior Rider.
Like all BHS Accredited Professional Coaches I am First Aid qualified and DBS Checked.
I attend regular Continual Professional Development training, industry standard child protection and safe guarding courses.
I enjoy coaching all aspects of equitation, particularly working on developing the partnership between horse and rider to promote and encourage better performance which results in a far more rewarding relationship. Specialising in finding empathetic ways to over come any blips, confidence issues or nervousness along the way.
Available for coaching private clients on their own horses, Riding Schools, Riding Clubs, Pony Club and External Clinics.
Availability for schooling, exercising, groundwork and competition riding.
I have competition experience in many disciplines including Show Jumping, Dressage, Western and even Long-Reining but I have had most success and won most of my national championships in the Show Ring and competing Side Saddle.
Over 20yrs experience working within the Equine industry, working with most types of horses (& ponies).
I am a friendly, sympathetic and patient rider/coach with a passion for horse welfare. I aim to encourage a stronger partnership by taking the time to get to know each horse and rider/owner individually, preferably on the ground before mounting. I allow time to read and understand the horses’ body language, behaviour & emotions to make him/her the centre point of the training process and encourage the riders to do the same by learning to read to subtle cues. This can only be achieved with time and patience and a true desire to learn what the horse is ‘saying’ whilst maintaining clear boundaries without the need for any forceful practice.
I work using a variety of techniques including Intelligent Horsemanship, TRT Method, Parelli and of course the more traditional techniques. I believe there is a time and place for each, yet every horse is an individual and in my experience I have found that not one method of training fits all.
Excellent results and feed back from owners of horses that I have worked with over the years and references can be given.
I am a national show judge for CHAPS, BSHA, TSR and TGCA and I thoroughly enjoy judging showing shows of all levels across the country.
